Paul Hardern

Paul Hardern

Paul's love of painting began from an early age, from the first paint by numbers at the age of 6 Paul was hooked.

'I got a lot of my skills from my Farther who was also a keen artist and at school this was the subject I most looked forward to every week. The first artist that really inspired me was Van Gogh, maybe an obvious one at an early age but the colours and boldness for me really caught my eye and I believe that some of my work shows some of these traits many years later.'

Paul studied art and design at Mid Cheshire college and went on to do Graphic Design at Salford university.
After nearly 20 years in retail management Paul has returned to his passion of art.

Paul mainly paints animals, as he enjoys the fascination he believes we all have about what an animal may be thinking, weather it's our own pets or wild animals.

'I have always tried to show that wonder in my paintings. My paintings tend to have a more modern feel to them and I try to achieve this through colours and mark making. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it.'
